Introduction

This application is provided exclusively for exhibitors at Euroexpo fairs. Its sole purpose is to allow exhibitors to scan barcodes on visitor badges (provided voluntarily by visitors) and export the scanned information for their business use.

What personal data is processed

  • Login data: Users cannot self-register. All accounts are created by Euroexpo. Only username and password are processed for authentication.

  • Scanned visitor data: When an exhibitor scans a visitor’s badge, the information encoded in the barcode is processed. This information is provided voluntarily by the visitor when presenting the badge.

  • Exported data: Exhibitors can export scanned badge data as a CSV file and store it locally on their device or share it via the operating system’s share function.

  • Location data: With the user’s permission, the app may access device location to provide location-based services during fairs (e.g., event navigation, exhibitor mapping, or location-based notifications).

Permissions required by the app

  • Camera access: required for scanning visitor barcodes.

  • Storage access: required to save the exported CSV file on the device.

  • Sharing access: required to export CSV data via your device’s share menu.

  • Location access: required if you choose to use location-based services (navigation inside the event, location-based notifications).

No additional tracking

  • The app does not use cookies.

  • The app does not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics.

  • The app does not perform profiling, networking directories, or push advertising.

Legal basis of processing

  • Exhibitors’ login data is processed under Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contractual necessity).

  • Visitors’ badge data is processed based on the visitor voluntarily presenting their badge for scanning (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR – consent).

  • Location data is processed only with the user’s consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Storage & transfer of data

  • Data is stored locally on the exhibitor’s device.

  • CSV export or sharing is fully under the exhibitor’s control.

  • Euroexpo does not transfer badge or location data to third parties or process it outside the European Economic Area.

Data retention

  • Login credentials remain active until the account is deactivated by Euroexpo.

  • Exported badge data and location data remain only on the exhibitor’s device and under their control.

Security

  • All login connections use SSL encryption.

  • Exhibitors are responsible for safeguarding the CSV files they export from the app.

Rights of data subjects

Visitors and exhibitors may exercise their GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) by contacting data.protection@euroexpo.ro.
